We had a good visit to this place – because of Covid-19, it is “closed” which means, they’re not charging admission. But we have the America the Beautiful pass so I think it would have been free for us anyway.
But it was a cool place if not for the bugs. I was being eaten alive by mosquitos, which would splatter my blood when I swatted them. So we didn’t stay as long as we would have liked.
But we did get some pretty good photos. Even saw what we think was a real alligator at the Alligator Viewing Area, but suppose it could have been a decoy complete with eyes that open and close and a neck that turns slightly. (it just looked so fake by the way its legs were positioned in the water.) So who knows… real or not, we got some photos of it.
All in all a good day – here are a few photos…

Hi Gail, it was good seeing you too. I hope we were able to add a little inspiration to your dream of building a camper van! Thanks for the recommendation of Savin Rock Park – we never made it there but next time we come through we’ll be sure to go check it out.
