Download these free plans to save money and build your own Composting Toilet.
Originally our plan was to sell these, so we put extra effort in to making sure they were clear, easy to understand and a good value.
But then we talked to a lawyer about disclaimers and limits of liability and all that good stuff and decided it might be risky (on our limited budget) to offer something like this for sale.
However, the 9-page Ebook of plans is already completed, so that’s good news for you – all we ask is that you join our mail list. You can find a link to that on the plans page, (Click here for the plans) and in return, you can have our plans for free.
And here is a list of most of the components we used that we needed to purchase. Here are some of the components mentioned in the video: (Note that this list contains affiliate links. We may earn compensation when you click on the links at no additional cost to you.)
Urine Diverter: https://ebay.to/2Z6226g
Struts: https://amzn.to/2Y7O9nD
Vent Fan (fits into PVC Pipe reducer): https://amzn.to/2BAVQLn
Exterior vent cover: https://amzn.to/2UhRhfD
1-Gallon Jugs: (Buy 2 pairs of these so you’ll have more capacity for boondocking) https://amzn.to/3gVFZYd
And it would be really, really cool if you subscribed to our YouTube channel as well. Click here to do that – Tim & Shannon on YouTube and/or check out our review on this video:

Hello! Where did you get your urine diverter? Thank you so much for these plans!
Hi Alissa, there is a link in the plans for the urine diverter. Also in the description on our YouTube review of the unit: https://youtu.be/7vnMtRaR0Q8

You build that system perfectly. Anyone can buy an expensive system but making your own is much better and more fun.
one question on this video did you make the window trim or did you buy that.
I’m at the stage where I need window trim but I’m stuck. Please let me know where to buy or if you build that and if you have a youtube video how-to, please share.
Thanks
Thanks for the comment Tony. Yes there is certainly satisfaction in building your own!
We do have a video for that window trim but unfortunately we were up to our ears in van building at the time so it’s not the most complete video. But it should give you the basic idea of how we did it. It’s in two parts – Here they are:
